I love to cook and bake. My favorite place to be in the kitchen cooking meals for her family. And I'm always looking for new devices or replace accessories for my kitchen. I'm sure there are many of you out there who also have cooks / bakers on the gift list and you are not sure what to buy for them, so I thought I'd give you some ideas:
- wooden spoons - I like wooden spoons, and good ones are hard to come by. I love those who have a good thick, long handles on them so that they can use them in the stock containers.
- Whisk - I have different sizes of whisks and use them all the time. However, there are many days that I wish I had more than 1 my minor. They really come in handy when you need to whisk a small amount of something. Yes, I know I can use a fork, whisk, but is more fun.
- measuring cups / spoons - like any good chef knows, you can never have enough measuring equipment. When I give some as gifts, as I look for some that I use, but also look for some that are seasonal. It makes cooking a lot more fun when you use fun dishes.
- Bamboo Accessories - This is another great idea. Yes, it's like wooden spoons, but they are actually a lot better and last longer
- scrapers - and I use all the time for things like scooping up a lot of chopped veggies to scraping up bits of dough with my mat after bread
.- Silicone Spatulas or Spoonulas - This is another item that I know that I use all the time and I'm confident that you can never have enough. When I was a baking day, I always seem to run from them, even when I wash and reuse.
- Serving plate - I like to use nice when I pay with a get-together. Although they are usually casual, it makes it feel more special.
- Cookie Cutters - If you know someone who loves to bake cookies, try to find a nice set of cookie cutters
.- apron - apron is a must have for any serious cook / Baker. You can find a plain white or colored apron for only a few dollars, and you can get some fabric paint and dress it up a bit. Or buy some fabric paint and make the grandkids grandparent personalized aprons with their handprints, and you could write your name, date and year below them.
- pot holders -! It can be found a very reasonable price or, if you sew or quilt, you could even do some
- tea towels - My towels are well loved over the years and really are beginning to show. New towels are always welcome in my kitchen, and I'm sure your chef / baker will feel the same way!
- Baking Basket - put together a basket of their favorite ingredients such as cooking a box of cake or brownie mix, sprinkles, a box of powdered sugar, a spoon or spatula, cupcake liners
.- Dinner Basket - Compile Italian dinner basket. These could include a box of pasta, sauce, garlic bread and bagged salad mix and a bottle of your favorite dressing.
